A Casa Pedro Inês
Our History
The current Casa Pedro e Inês belonged to a family of farmers and its construction dates from 1934. Once the property, consisting of a house with cellar, mill and an extensive land of lavradio, extended to the street above.
With the departure of the owners, the property was sold by the heirs, subdivided and acquired by an emigrant from Ponte de
Lima. However, he decided, through a real estate agency, to sell the plot of the house, which caught Ana’s attention for its picturesque appearance.
The beginning of our history
Despite its advanced state of ruin, the recovery of the house and surrounding area constituted, from the first
moment, a real personal challenge.
The purchase of the house was recorded in December 2010 and Ana gave it the name of her two children: Pedro and Inês.
For 7 years, the works of improvement of the property were carried out by the hands of a laborious artisan from Barcelos, an excellent artist of restoration of rustic houses, Mr. Laurentino Rodrigues. With endless patience and a rare honesty, he answered and realized all the desires that Ana drew in the air, on paper, on the dust of the ground.
By 2018, the beneficiation works were completed and the illusions of having free time to enjoy the home with the family were more than many.
With the lack of time to spend weekends in the new house, there was another challenge, that of making Casa Pedro Inês a local accommodation establishment, because it gathered all the amenities for a family to enjoy a beautiful stay.
On 18 July 2018, Casa Pedro Inês opened to the public and currently constitutes Ana, along with her profession as a teacher, one of her most promising challenges.
Ana is fascinated by art, culture, nature and above all human relations. He dedicates his free time to interpersonal relationships, painting and physical activity. The paintings that he paints are part of the decoration of the house, as well as many other personal objects specially designed to make the Casa Pedro e Inês a unique place, cosy and pleasant.
Ana loves her city of Viana do Castelo and is dedicated to the dissemination of the beauty and potential of the region, feeling great pleasure in receiving guests who honour Casa Pedro Inês with their visit.
